The Mother House Fund

Here is a neat opportunity for Puget Sound-area teens to get involved in a unique fundraising and philanthropy endeavor:

The Mother House Fund, a donor-advised fund at The Seattle Foundation, has implemented the Seeds of Compassion Youth Grant Program, which is an effort to promote philanthropic efforts of teens who desire to have a positive impact within their local and global communities. This initiative is designed to support youth-led programs that demonstrate compassion through community service projects targeting underserved children and families within the Pacific Northwest as well as internationally.

Seed grants are intended to help teens working with community organizations jump start new projects, or continue current projects just gaining momentum yet already proving value.

If you or someone you know is working in the area of youth leadership development, please pass this opportunity along to teens who would be interested in applying for grant funding to support their next community service project.

Visit The Mother House Fund to review the grant criteria, view past projects, and download the application.

Application deadline: March 31, 2012
